Video on WCU Websites

May 30, 2012

It has become increasingly easy from a technological viewpoint to create videos for sites such as YouTube and iTunes as well as for university websites. However, it’s important to comply with copyright and trademark law, university policies, and intellectual property and licensing considerations before creating and publishing your video.

The offices of eMarketing and Public Relations have put together guidelines for video on WCU websites. Those guidelines and a form for submitting your video for publication on www.wcu.edu are available at http://www.wcu.edu/30832.asp.

Any video that will be embedded in a www.wcu.edu site is subject to these guidelines and submission process. Video which is already online is recommended to be reviewed for compliance with the guidelines.

If you have any questions, please contact eMarketing (828-227-3553) or the Office of Public Relations (828-227-7327) to discuss your project plans and possibilities, and the review process.
