UPDATE – IE Issue with OU

Recently, we’ve seen instances of Internet Explorer (IE) 9 and 10 users receiving this message when logging into their pages in OU: “The site name was not provided. Please try again or contact technical support. S27”

Here is the solution:

  • On Internet Explorer’s toolbar, go to Tools > Compatibility View settings,
  • Turn off Compatibility View settings for Display all websites in Compatibility View, and
  • Remove omniupdate.com from Compatibility View settings, if it’s present.



Internet Explorer 10 is indeed working – AFTER you shut off compatibility mode (the blue torn-sheet of paper icon to the right of where you type the URL).

You may need to clear your cache and/or restart your browser.

NOTE: IE 10 is not yet fully supported by OU.


We are seeing an issue using IE with Campus OU today. When logging in, using Internet Explorer, you will receive an error message.

To work around this error, at the top of the page, click “Change Site”, then select “wcu”. Another option – use another browser.

We have contacted OU customer support for more information and help resolving this issue.
