Implementing Web Site Traffic Analytics

May 4, 2009

Web Services is pleased to offer your department monthly information about the traffic coming to your homepage. A PDF report will be emailed to you on the first of each month. Please find more information about the report and how to read it attached.

An account has been created to track the traffic on your homepage alone. If you’d like to receive information on more (or even all) of the pages of your site, you’ll need to take a few steps to edit your pages in RedDot:

  • For each page of your site that you’d like to track, open the page for editing in RedDot.
  • At the bottom of the list of red dots is “Edit all elements via form (no navigation).” Click the dot next to this option.
  • The second box in the form that opens is labeled Google Analytics Code.
  • Enter the provided code into the box.
  • Click OK at the bottom of the screen.
  • Submit this page to workflow, just as you would with any other edit.
  • Repeat this process, adding the Google Analytics Code to each page you want to track.

Please don’t hesitate to ask questions or give us your feedback as you learn more about the traffic coming to your homepage.
